Archiving overview

When a record is no longer needed, it is strongly recommended that you archive the record rather than deleting it in order to maintain a complete history that is available for auditing. A record may not be needed today, but archiving it ensures that it is available if needed in the future. Archiving eliminates the need to recreate information and allows for accurate and thorough auditing.

Practitioner, group, facility, contract, license, contact and image records can be archived, as well as other detail grid lines such as, practice locations, licenses, etc. In addition, administrative records, such as reference types, can also be archived.

Note

The ability to archive is determined by an organization’s management team and archive permissions are set in the security menu by the symplr Payer administrator.
